Pallet racking systems can be of different types where each type could be used for completely different reasons. This actually happens and because they are actually available in different types, it is important that you assess your needs before going for the same. Based on the needs, you are free to pick one from the following types available in the markets.
Drive in and drive thru types
Drive in and drive thru types
- The biggest USP is that these pallet racking systems give the space to forklift truck to drive directly into the storage bay. This is generally a lane of stacked rows.
- In the drive-in system, one point is used as an entry as well as an exit point.
- Because there is just one entry/exit point, this one is given the name of LIFO system or Last In First Out system and in this system, one bay can be used to store only one type of products.
- In the drive-thru version, you’ll find forklift trucks entering from each side of the bay and because it is completely contrary, this storage system is called FIFO or First In First Out system.
- This one can be loaded on one end and off-loaded on the other end, enabling a FIFO (First-In, First-Out) product rotation.
Selective pallet racking system
- The next version offered by the sellers of solutions like shelves Brisbane and storage racks Brisbane, the next very popular option is called selective system.
- This one is acknowledged as one of the least expensive and easy to access product.
- This version is used when the stock you want to store is quickly perishable and this is why, you’ll find this version being used by numerous retails and wholesaler dealers use this version.
- This version is available in two forms, i.e. the rolled form and the structural pallet racking systems.
